Sunrail may be back on track in Central Florida

Sunrail is the commuter rail system proposed for Central Florida.  Initial plans call for a 61mile run between Deland in Volusia County through Orlando to Osceola County. The first phase is planned to be about half of the total length, from Debary to Sand Lake Road in Orlando.
Earlier this year the Florida legislature defeated a bill critical to getting Sunrail moving. The availability of Federal funding seems to have tipped the scales in favor of the project.
Governor Charlie Crist signed legislation to help move the Sunrail project forward
on Wednesday December 16, 2009.
