His real estate business served Ormond By The Sea Florida for over 25 years and through that time Mr Weeks was a tireless advocate for the community he loved.

A few of Mr. Weeks' accomplishments include demolition of eyesore buildings, increased sheriff patrols, sidewalks along A1A, Ormond By The Sea parks and meeting of residents with elected and other officials to discuss important issues. Letters, phone calls and personal meetings with anyone who could help all became the way Al Weeks Sr. would go after issues important to his beloved Ormond By The Sea.

North Shore Park in Ormond By The Sea, Florida on November 5, 2011 was officially designated to the memory of Al Weeks, Sr. The park was renamed Al Weeks, Sr. North Shore Park in his honor. This is a fitting tribute since the site of the park is where Al Fought for years to remove the Happy Whale condo building & make way for a park to facilitate public access to the beach in Ormond By The Sea.
