2010 Volusia County Fair & Youth Show


The 2010 Volusia County Fair is sceduled for Thursday, November 4 to Sunday, November 14, 2010 at the Volusia County Fairgrounds in Deland, Florida.

Advance Gate Admission: Adult, $6.00.  Children age 6 - 12, $4.00
Admission at the gate:  Adult, $8.00. Children age 6 - 12, $5.00

Limited seating is free with Gate Admission for the following performances:

Friday January 7, 2011 at the Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center in Ormond Beach, Florida. Richard Nader presents ROCK and ROLL and DOO WOP with a twist show with Joey Dee of Joey Dee and the Starliters, Tony Passa of the Fascinators, Tommy Mara current lead singer of the Crests, Steve Horn of the 5 Sharks, Frank Mancuso of the Imaginations, plus special guest star.
This is expected to be a magical evening of solid gold Doo Wop and Rock and Roll hits. Show time is 7:30 PM.

Home for the holidays parade in Ormond Beach Florida

The City of Ormond Beach Department of Leisure Services proudly presents the 20th Annual Home for the Holidays Parade Saturday, December 11th, 2010 at 6:30PM.   The parade route runs along Granada Blvd east to City Hall.


The city of Ormond Beach will hold its 20th annual Christmas parade at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 11. The theme of the 2010 edition of the parade is "20 years of Holiday Magic".  Thousands of spectators are expected to line the approximately 1.5 mile parade route that begins at Yonge Street and Division Avenue.  The Home for the Holidays Parade then turns north to Granada Boulevard and then turns east to South Beach Street and passes City Hall and the Review stand.

The reviewing stand will be located in front of Ormond Beach City Hall, 22 South Beach Street, Ormond Beach Florida.  Many prizes will be awarded.   For more information about the Home for the holidays parade categories and prizes view the flyer at

Daytona Beach International Poker Tournament


 Daytona Beach International Poker Tournament at the Daytona Beach Kennel Club and Poker Room.  This 2nd annual tournament attracts top players from across the U.S. for 14 days of play.  Changes to Florida’s poker laws that went into effect July 1,2010 will make this a more interesting event.  There will be bonus events included in the schedule.

 The event runs from November 1 -14.

The Daytona Turkey Run 2010


The Daytona Turkey Run 2010 is presented by the Daytona Racing & Recreational Facilities District in partnership with The Daytona Beach Street Rods.

 The Daytona Turkey Run 2010 is scheduled from November 25, 2010 through November 28, 2010,  8:00 AM - 4:00 PM daily and 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM on Sunday in Daytona Beach Florida.   This is the 37th automobile swap meet and sale held annually at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach Florida on Thanksgiving weekend. The event is not sponsored by the Speedway.
The Daytona Turkey Run features thousands of special interest vehicles including street machines, customs, street rods, classics, sports cars, muscle cars, race cars and trucks. Another feature of this event is the large assortment of vendors selling parts and accessories both new and used and a craft area.   Accross the street from the event is the Volusia Mall for those looking to get in some serious shopping.  Admission is $15 at the door daily and $10 on Sunday.  Children under 11 are free.

Palm Coast Seafood Festival 2010

The City of Palm Coast Florida will proudly present the City's first Seafood Festival on Saturday & Sunday, November 6 & 7, 2010.  Flagler County's First Annual Seafood Festival is to be held in Palm Coast Central Park in Town Center Saturday from noon to 10:00 PM and Sunday, November 7, 2010 from noon to 6:00 PM. 
Central Park at Town Center is located one half mile north of Flagler Palm Coast High School on Bulldog Drive, off State Road 100.  Central Park is at the corner of Bulldog Drive and Central Ave in Palm Coast Florida. 
Admission is only $3  and children under 12 are free, $1 tickets will be available to purchase food and carnival attractions.
The Palm Coast Seafood Festival will have plenty of free parking and something for everyone.

Local restaurants will be offering some of their seafood specialties while you enjoy continuous live music including a Saturday Night Rockin' Decades of Oldies Concert Under the Stars.  For the youngsters there will be a midway full of great kids Carnival rides.  Hell's Kitchen Winner Danny Veltri will have  cooking demonstrations at 3 PM daily.  Enjoy the K9 Frisbee dog exhibition shows every hour, beginning at 2:00 p.m. daily.  All of the dogs were rescued from shelters.  There will also be an Antique car show, Radio controlled boat races on the pond and an art show.  The Nesquik Bunny, Geico Lizard & Cubby will be there!  Take exit 284 off of I-95 and head west.

Ormond Riverfest Music Festival 2010

Ormond Riverfest Music Festival 2010 will be on the East bank of the Halifax River.
The East end of the Granada Bridge will be the place to be both at the south side at the Rockefeller Gardens and the North side at Fortunato Park in downtown Ormond Beach Florida on November 20th and 21st 2010.  Music, food and lots of fun for everyone.  There is a walkway under the Granada Bridge to allow you to get between the two parks without having to go around and accross the road.

Ormond Riverfest  2010 features include:
-Continuous live music with over fifty different acts on four stages. 
-Featured performers include Denny Laine, Rod MacDonald, and The Mayhaws.
-Learn to row and sculling lessons by The Halifax Rowing Association. 
-Multiple boats will be on display.
-An Auto Show at Fortunato Park on Saturday.
-Demonstrations on the Ergometer (rowing machine)
-Local restaurants will serve their finest foods, and other vendors include arts, crafts, jewelry and much more. 
-A Children's Corner at Fortunato Park  will feature live entertainment, crafts, games, gem mining, face painting and balloon art.

Daytona Beach Boardwalk amusements


Daytona Beach Boardwalk amusement fun has returned to the Daytona Beach Florida Boardwalk after a few years.  The amusement rides that disappeared years ago from the Daytona Beach Boardwalk are returning.
kiddie rides, a Ferris wheel, Slingshot, The Hurricane, Tilt-O-Whirl and go-carts are now open and more rides and attractions may be coming in the future. 
The Boardwalk is open seven days a week. The rides are open from 4 PM to 10 PM Sunday through Thursday, and until 11 PM. on Friday and Saturday. Also check out the gift shops, restaurants and of course the beach.  Or just watch the waves roll in.  The Daytona Beach Boardwalk amusements are just north of the pieron the Boardwalk. You can see the amusements from A1A and Main Street.
A small number of spaces for metered parking are available on Ocean Avenue and there also is a parking lot there.
