Beginning tonight the City of Ormond Beach Leisure Services Department presents the FREE "Summer Sounds" concert series at 7:00 p.m. at Rockefeller Gardens, located along the Halifax River in front of The Casements at 25 Riverside Drive.

Brad Yates & The Soul Surfers will Perform Seaside Soul Music and Soft Rock Music.

 Through the Daytona Beach Area Realtors® Multiple Listing Service (MLS) there were 3 Plantation Bay Golf and Country Club home sold in June, 2011.  Additionally, there are 7 homes under contract waiting closing and 4 of those have lender involvement as either a short sale or foreclosure.  
The homes sold were:
2 bedroom on Sunningdale Lane for $165,000
4 bedroom on Royal Pointe Lane for $225,000
4 bedroom on Stone Lake Drive for $340,000
4 bedroom on Redbourne Lane for $535,000
3 bedroom on Hampstead Lane for $679,000

There was no lender involvement in any of the June, 2011 homes sold in Plantation Bay Golf and Country Club.  The 3 sales is fewer than the 4 sales in 2010 and the 5 in June, 2009.  there were 4 sales in June, 2006 and 2007.

 Seven condos sold in Ormond By The Sea, Florida during June, 2011 through the Daytona Beach Area Association of Realtors® Multiple Listing Service (MLS), two of which involved a lender.  That number is higher than the 2010 average of 5.5 sales each month but lower than last month's 13 sales.  June, 2011 had 7 sales which is the highest volume of sales in the month of June since the 17 sales in June, 2005.   
There are also 9 condos under contract pending sales closing and 5 of those involves a lender.
Everyone is hopeful that the sales volume will continue although 5 of the sales were for under $100,000 and only 2 were for over $150,000.

There are condos that have been foreclosed on by lenders that have not yet hit the market.

 Through the Daytona Beach Area Realtors® Multiple Listing Service (MLS) there were 17 Ormond By The Sea, Florida homes sold in June, 2011.  Five (5)  of the sales had lender involvement, either a short sale or foreclosure. Additionally, there are 41 homes under contract waiting closing and 24 of those have lender involvement. The highest priced home sold was a 3 bedroom on Coquina Key for $444,500 and the lowest priced was a 2-bedroom 2 bath on Palmetto Drive for $58,660.

Comparing to last year, there were 19 Ormond By The Sea Florida homes sold in June, 2010 and 5 of those involved the lender.

Sunrail may be back on track in Central Florida



Railroad track

 Sunrail is the commuter rail system proposed for Central Florida. Initial plans call for a61mile run between Deland in Volusia County through Orlando to Osceola County. The first phase is planned to be about half of the total length, from Debary to Sand Lake Road in Orlando. Another future plan calls for extending the line east to Daytona Beach.

Florida Governor Rick Scott a few months back rejected $2.4Billion in federal stimulus money that would have moved the project forward but now the state and a consortium of local governments will use transportation funds to get the project back on track. Current plans call for the first phase to operational in 2014.
